Xbox September 22 Update Patch Notes

The public update lists four changes:

  • Fixed an issue that prevented the Share button from being remapped in the Xbox Accessories app.
  • Fixed an error that could appear in Search for certain search terms.
  • Fixed a crash affecting the Manage queue page in My games & apps.
  • Added various stability and performance fixes.

For players who encountered one of those problems, the patch targets the relevant behavior directly. The note about the Share button concerns remapping it in the Xbox Accessories app; it does not announce a new controller feature.

How to Check for the Xbox Console Update

If the update has not installed automatically, open Settings on the console, choose System, then select Updates to check for available system software. The rollout is a public update for console users, separate from preview builds distributed through the Xbox Insider program.

Is Disc-to-Digital Included?

No. The September patch notes describe bug fixes and stability improvements, not a public launch of the Disc-to-Digital feature. Pure Xbox reported that the feature was still being tested with Xbox Insiders when this update arrived; this release does not announce a public launch date.
